Care Guide
Care Guide
Storage
Store your wood watch properly when not in use to avoid chips or scratches. Your new eco-friendly watch comes with a recycled watch box for storage, but we also offer a Bamboo Watch Box upgrade. Extreme temperatures can harm natural wood, so keep your natural watch away from direct sunlight, heaters, and cold conditions. Even though our vegan watches are finished and coated, natural wood is sensitive to extreme heat and cold.
Cleaning
Cleaning your wooden watch regularly will help keep it in good condition. Our ethical watches are 3ATM water resistant, but avoid exposing them to running water for extended periods or submerging them, as natural wood absorbs moisture and may warp. Use a soft cloth to remove dirt and dust from the vegan watch’s exterior. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the wood.
Other considerations
Magnetic fields can affect the functionality of your wooden watch. Keep your watch away from magnets and have it serviced regularly by a professional watch shop. Regular maintenance will help prolong your automatic watches life.

Ebony & Green Sandalwood
Origins
Ebony wood is found in tropical regions such as Africa, India, and Southeast Asia, and similarly Green Sandalwood is most common in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia... and now both in this wood watch!
Common uses
Ebony is historically used in fine furniture and carving dating back to the Egyptian civilisation, where Green Sandalwood has been historically used in religious rituals, for carvings, and traditional medicine in Indian and Chinese cultures. Today, both these woods are a popular choice for furniture due to their striking natural appearance, and come together perfectly in this men's watch.
Colours & Wood grain
Ebony wood is renowned for its rich black colour and density; whereas Green Sandalwood is distinguished by its deep greenish-brown colours and sophisticated wood grain patterns that adorn this wood watch.
Green Sandalwood and Ebony: The Hemlock is an eco-friendly, handmade, natural wood watch. The band of this wristwatch is crafted from green sandalwood and ebony, featuring the elegant, unaltered natural grain patterns and colour hues of the wood. The Hemlock’s classically styled watch body makes for a versatile accessory for a number of occasions, with the exposed mechanics uplifting the styling. The Hemlock is a truly unique watch.
Mechanical Movement: The intricate exposed mechanics of the watch are the main feature of The Hemlock. The quality mechanical movement smoothly carries the second hand around the watch face. Movement during the use of the watch will automatically wind the watch. However, the watch will stop after 38-40 hours in a static state. To fully re-wind the watch, turn the watch crown 360 degrees 20 times.
Environmentally Friendly: The Hemlock runs without batteries, reducing waste and the watch's impact on the environment. We offset 250kg of carbon with every order and support reforestation, planting 10 trees. Our watches and straps are handmade from recycled natural woods and are vegan. We ship carbon neutrally with recyclable packaging, offset the carbon of our workforce and donate a percentage of our revenue to charity.
