Cleaning

Cleaning is important to maintain the appearance of your natural watch. All our wooden watches are 3ATM water resistant, but prolonged exposure to running water or submersion should be avoided. Natural wood absorbs moisture, which can lead to warping. Use a soft cloth to remove dust and dirt from the exterior. No harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as they could scratch or tarnish your new wood watch.

Storage

Store your sustainable watch properly to avoid scratches and chips. Your recycled wood watch comes with a recycled box for storage, but you can also upgrade to a Bamboo Wood Watch Box. Extreme temperatures can warp wood, so protect your handmade watch from direct sunlight, heaters, and cold. Although these unique watches are coated, natural wood remains sensitive to hot or cold conditions.

Other considerations

Magnetic fields can interfere with your wood watch’s functionality. Keep your vegan watch away from magnets, and have it serviced regularly. Repairs should be done by professionals at a watch shop.

Maple & Green Sandalwood

Origins

Maple wood originates from trees in the North American, Europen, and Asian regions; where Green sandalwood is native to the Indian subcontinent and more concentrated in Southeast Asia.

Common use

Maple wood’s fine grain and durability make maple wood ideal for furniture and flooring; whereas Green sandalwood has been used historically for carving. The properties of both these woods now lend themselves perfectly to hand crafting our wood watches.

Colours & Wood grain

Green sandalwood is characterised by its sophisticated greenish-brown colour, which contrasts the pale, creamy beige colour of Maple wood perfectly in this women’s watch.

Upcycled: The Willow is handmade from recycled Green Sandalwood and Maple wood furniture. These upcycled woods boast natural green and brown hues, unique to every unit. The distinct angular watch dial sports the same colour scheme as the wooden watch body and strap, in keeping with the naturalistic styling and values of The Willow.

Subtle Styling: The angular design of the watch body is the centre of The Willow’s styling. The watch's face is decorated with simple markings, allowing the natural woods to be the star, without the distraction of extravagant accents. The Willow runs with accurate Japanese Quartz movement and is fastened with a bracelet clasp. 

Recyclable Packaging: This wristwatch is extremely lightweight and shipped in eco-friendly packaging designed to be kinder to the environment. All orders from us are shipped carbon neutrally and for free.
